Mother Goose's Bedtime Stories presents: Only I

"Only I" is a theatrical inquiry of collective grief and rage experienced by Indigenous, Black, and/or Brown people who are also queer, trans, non-binary or womxn identified.

The original project was conceived after reading 'Grief and the Headhunter's Rage' by Renato Rosaldo, iconic chicanx anthropologist. While Rosaldo spoke of personal tragedy inciting grief and rage in him, Keila Anali noticed these two emotions as a constant in their experience. Grief and rage are a part of our lives as people navigating a white supremacist cisheteropatriarchy.

Presented in collaboration with Mother Goose's Bedtime Stories, and Pangea World Theater's Lake Street Arts program, 'Only I' is being remounted at Pangea World Theater Studio. With this comes a new edition of the play that is authentic to the ensemble and the community it is representing.
