Reclaim and Shift MN are collaborating to offer a series of four workshops for people who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community to gather together, share food + conversation, and learn + practice healing skills, healthy coping, and stress reduction techniques.
On March 6th we’ll welcome in Lisa Marie Brimmer. Lisa Marie Brimmer is a queer, Black, adoptee who lives in Minneapolis, MN. Their creative and critical work has been presented around the Twin Cities; with Button Poetry, Late Nite at the Pillsbury House Theatre, The Playwrights’ Center, Bedlam Theatre, Intermedia Arts, 20% Theatre, the Umbrella Collective, and MNArtists.org. Together with Andrea Jenkins and John Medeiros, they are co-editor of the Queer Voices of Minnesota: Poetry, Prose, and Pride anthology from MNHS Press (2019). Their poems will appear in the 2019 Quarterly Twin Cities Pride Magazine in the poetry column, “Last Thoughts”.
Lisa will lead us in a one hour vision boarding workshop to do some springtime visioning and conjure a 2019 that serves our dreams. We'll cut up old magazines, and add our own colors, phrases, and visuals that seed our visions of personal and collective wellness.
This a safer space. We will hold each other accountable to build a space liberated from any type of racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or other kind of oppression.
1. Is there a cost to attend?
No, these are all free for the community.
