Fall Series: Third Fridays at Quatrefoil

Check out a great series of free special events this fall at 7 p.m. on the third Friday of September, October and November. On Oct. 18 three gay novelists share the stage to read from new work.

They write novels, short stories, essays and reviews. David Pratt, Gary Eldon Peter and Lewis DeSimone join forces for a free reading at Quatrefoil. There will be books for sale and signing, and refreshments.

Pratt, who lives in Ann Arbor, Mich., is the author of the novels “Todd Sweeney, the Fiend of Fleet High” (2019), “Wallaçonia,” “Looking After Joey,” “Bob the Book” (winner of the 2010 Lambda Literary Award for best debut fiction) and the story collection “My Movie.” His short fiction has been published widely in magazines.

Peter’s debut story collection “Oranges” came out in 2018. One story from it was performed on “Selected Shorts” on National Public Radio. The book won the Midwest Book Award and was a finalist for the Minnesota Book Award and the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction. Peter teaches at the University of Minnesota and lives in St. Paul.

DeSimone has published three novels — “Channeling Morgan,” “Chemistry” and “The Heart’s History.” His short fiction has appeared in “Christopher Street” and other magazines and anthologies. Originally from Boston, Lewis lived in San Francisco for many years and now lives in Minneapolis.
